Tenerife sandy beach: Playa de la Arena
Southwest Tenerife: about 16 km from Finca Constanza
We believe that this is the most interesting and attractive beach in Tenerife. Its position on the southwest coast with its sunny microclimate is ideal. It is very safe and well kept and fulfills the prerequisites of the "blue flag". It still has the energising black sand which is ideal for sandbathing, also called psammotherapy, which is the solution for those suffering burn-out.
The blue flag which this beach has had since 1989 is the mark of recognition of the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE), recognised in 30 countries. The criteria are water quality, safety measures, sanitary installations, beach cleanliness and environmental protection measures.
Care is needed because of strong currents and rocks and attention must be paid to the red and yellow warning flags as well as the advice of the beach attendant.
